This neighborhood is made up of mostly medium to larger homes with three or four bedrooms being the most common. This is a historic area with many homes built before 1939 and the rest built before 1969. While charming for some, make sure you are ready to handle the maintenance that come with owning older houses.

The median home price is $379,000 in this neighborhood. Rental properties are renting for about $1,188 per month. This is higher rent than what is found in over 80% of other Ohio communities. For those looking to buy a lakefront estate, plan to spend $2 million or more.

Naturally, there are all the activities to be enjoyed on the lake, such as fishing, boating, and other water sports. Lakewood Park is right on the lakefront. It has a swimming pool and a skate park.

Rocky River Neighborhood

The Rock River neighborhood is ten miles from downtown Cleveland going west. It is a beautiful community located on Lake Erie. Most of the homes in this area were built during the 1950s, so this neighborhood is well established. The lakefront homes are the most desirable. Many of the lakefront estates are quite lavish.

Rocky River has an excellent public library. A pleasant stroll may be enjoyed in the Rock River Park on the lake. The River Gallery features artworks created by local artists such as sculptures and paintings.

The Cowan Pottery Museum specializes in ceramics and pottery. Cigar lovers will find a nice smoke at Cigar Cigars. Fine dining is available at the BeachCliff Tavern.

Shaker Heights Neighborhood

Shaker Heights is characterized by gorgeous, majestic, tree-lined streets with estates that were built in the 1920s. Light rail lines connect this neighborhood to downtown Cleveland, making it an easy commute. There are nice pubic parks and a quaint Main Street for boutique shopping, coffee shops, bars, and tasty restaurants.
