10×10 Storage Unit
How Big is a 10’x10′ Storage Unit?
Let’s look at the numbers! A 10’x10′ is 10 feet wide and 10 feet long which equals 100 square feet. Many of our storage units have an 8 foot ceiling. Multiplying 100 square feet by 8 ft gives us 800 cubic feet of storage. This is equivalent to storing the contents of a one bedroom apartment.
What Can I Fit in a 10’x10′ Storage Unit?
Equivalent to storing a one bedroom apartment, which can include a bedroom set and some small boxes.
How Much Weight Can I Fit in a 10’x10′ Storage Unit?
Many moving companies use weight as an estimate when performing long distant moves. Typically a 2 or 3 bedroom apartment weights between 5,000 and 6,500 pounds. Depending on the size of the items stored you may need a 10’x10′ or a larger 10’x15′ storage unit. We recommend going with a larger storage unit if you’re not sure which size to go with. It will make packing easier, especially if you need access to certain items throughout your move.
Can I Fit a Car in a 10’x10′ Storage Unit?
Reserved for only very small cars and motorcycles. We recommend that you measure your vehicle before deciding on a unit to make sure that it fits. Remember that you will have to close the door on your storage unit as well so you’ll want to give yourself some extra room. If you don’t mind storing your vehicle outside, many of our locations have parking spaces as well.
