About Pineville, LA

Pineville is a city in Rapides Parish. It is situated on the banks of the Red River across from the bigger city of Alexandria. The 2020 census counted 14,384 people living there. Historically, the city started with the establishment of the Louisiana State Seminary of Learning & Military Academy in 1853. This school would later become Louisiana State University.
