About Hixson, TN.

Hixson, TN, in Hamilton County, was once a separate and unincorporated village near the southern Tennessee border in the northeastern part of Chattanooga. However, Chattanooga has since assimilated this small community, though it still recognizes the area with two district seats on its city board and two district seats within the Hamilton County Commission.

While Hixson is technically now part of Chattanooga, many in the area still refer to it as Hixson and include neighborhoods like DuPont, Northgate, and Big Ridge as part of its statistical area. However, these neighborhoods are now all considered part of Chattanooga. That said, Hixson still keeps some of its identity and is a unique segment of Chattanooga that may make a great living option.

Hixson is also near Valleybrook Golf Course, a high-quality course hosting the Choo Choo Classic annually.

Visitors and residents may also enjoy watching the Chattanooga Lookouts team compete against other Tennessee clubs. Chattanooga includes various manufacturing and service industries, including Luken Communications, the National Model Railroad Association, DuPont, Invista, PepsiCo, the Volkswagen Chattanooga Assembly Plant, McKee Foods Corporation, and much more.
